Product Spotlight: On A Whimsy Transparencies

Our On A Whimsy printed transparencies are in the spotlight this week. These beautiful, bright designs are printed on a clear 12 x 12 transparency. They work great as a whole or cut up into smaller pieces.

Amy Peterman used a portion of the Ray of Sunshine transparency on this super cute layout of her darling daughter. Amy painted, machine stitched and added paper in front of and behind the transparency to achieve this fun look.

Cindy Tobey used the entire Sprout transparency as the background of this playful page. She added paper, felt, hand stitching, ribbon and buttons to the transparency. When Cindy layered the transparency over the blue patterned paper she didn't like how dark it made the sun look. To fix this she simply backed the sun portion of the transparency with white copy paper. Another way to keep the sun looking bright yellow would be to paint with white or yellow paint directly on the back of the transparency under the sun design.

Vicki Chrisman used a portion of the Sprout transparency on this adorable wall hanging! She used the sunshine and flower from the transparency along with rub-ons and patterned paper from the On A Whimsy collection for her fun home decor piece. Notice how she placed the flower from the transparency in the little girl's hand? So clever!

Denine

Q: How long have you been scrapbooking?
A: I have been scrapbooking for almost 9 years since the birth of my son, Ryan.

Q: What kind of scrapper would you consider yourself to be?
A: I consider myself to be a linear scrapper. I love lines. I also love to add little details to my pages.
 Could not ask
Q: What is your favorite Fancy Pants product?
A: My favorite Fancy Pants product has to be the patterned papers. I just love the designs and bright colors. A close second would be buttons ... they always seem to make their way onto my pages.

Q: What time of day do you usually scrapbook and where?
A: I usually scrapbook on weekends only. I work full time as a teacher, so my time is limited. It could sometimes be an all day thing on Sundays!

Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: I find most of my inspiration from my photos. I almost always start my pages with pictures. The rest just seems to come together all on its own!

Thanks Denine!

Fancy This: To Be Loved Frame

This week's Fancy This project comes to you from our talented Greta Hammond. Greta has created this beautiful, dimensional, framed art using our 8x8 On Display Frame and the Delight collection. We love how she placed some items under the acrylic sheet (that comes with the frame) and some items on top.

To Be Loved framed web

To be loved framed close up web

Supplies:

8x8 On Display Frame
Delight papers
Delight rub-ons
Delight: printed ribbon
Delight buttons
Delight journal book
Other: twine, thread, scalloped punch.

Instructions:
1. To make the frame, create the background with green solid and add a punched border of the pink at the bottom. Put this behind the acrylic of the frame.
2. Layer the other elements on the front to give a little dimension. Greta started with the scalloped journaling piece and then her photo.
3. Add the ribbon to the top part of the frame and create a bow with another piece of ribbon. Attach the button to the bow with a piece of twine and then adhered it to the frame.
4. Cut out the quote from "Cards" and adhere it to overlap the photo slightly and also the ribbon.
5. Finally, I add a bit more dimension by layering some rub-ons in the lower left corner and add threaded buttons for the flower centers.

Come back again on Wednesday for a chance to learn more about another one of our design team members. This week we get to know Denine Zelinski!

Product Spotlight: Ball Trim

I think the thing I love most about papercrafting is the tactile quality of the finished product. I love to see (and feel) the texture and depth that appears when paper, trims, chipboard and embellishments are combined. That's why I love this weeks product spotlight: Fancy Pants Ball Trims. They come is a variety of colors (coordinating with our recent and past collections), so there's sure to be one (or all of them!) that's perfect for you!
